Honorable judges, please allow me to elaborate on the instructions briefly on how I navigate this class. I would like to elaborate on it mainly consist of 3 parts. The first one is the ends, the second are the ways. The 3rd are the highlights I wanted to elaborate on here. So the first part, I wanted to emphasize the theories that help me to navigate this class.

The 2017 edition of the general high school English curriculum standards mentioned that first, the English learning activity should be intended to complement their core competencies for English. And then the unit is the basic component that carries the meaning and also serves as an organic component of the overall goals for a big idea. Besides that I try to emphasize teaching, learning and assessing altogether, combine them, carry and carried it out through different stages of this class. Besides that, the old version of our compulsory education curriculum mentions that English classes should serve as the humanistic and instrumental approaches to help students enhance their abilities. And the newly launched 2022 English compulsory education curriculum mentions that the students should develop their comprehensive qualities, including language, language competency, learning ability, thinking quality and cultural awareness. So the ends are precisely set according to the 4 aspects. First one for language competency, the students can grasp the expressions about the dragon boastings and the audience, etc. And utilize them to talk about the introduction part. And then for the learning strategies the students can use, they can understand how to express their feelings, the skills to talk about their preferences, and as for thinking abilities, the students can figure out, they can master, they can explore the rules of exclamatory sentences and attributive sentenced patterns. Last, in order to arouse their cultural awareness, they need to upload a video about the dragon boat festival online to propagate our festival both at home and abroad.

Then after the ends, I would like to shed light upon the teaching material analysis. This dialogue is kind of special because it is because it happened between 2 foreign students. At the end of this class, not only the students can improve their speaking listening skills, but also they can, their love, their curiosity for Chinese culture can be triggered, can be aroused and help them to strengthen their pride for our cultural connotation.

Then let's take a closer look at the material. This dialogue is between Mary and Bill, they use past tense, talk about a race they sold that day. But most of the students they live in on urban cities so they couldn't have a chance to real witness of dragon boat races. If they can learn from the dialogue and arouse their yearning to watch one, no matter online or at the same, it would do much better for them to indulge themselves in our traditional culture. And they are not familiar with our traditional festival because they've Learned another water festival before this class.

Now I would like to explain the ways I try to accomplish my ends of this class. First, the teaching procedures are built like a pyramid. At the bottom is the pre listening. I use a video to show to students, get everyone wound up and naturally I hope that it can lead the students into the topic of dragon boat festival. Besides that, during the 3 layers of listening activities, I wanna students to get the ideas and useful target language to process and to store them, to regulate them, to express themselves through different activities. Besides that, after listening, they need to start a draft or script and make a broadcast, a commentation, then give each other marks.

Now after the pyramid of my teaching procedures, I would like to emphasize this on the 2 strategies I use, first one is the thing based English activity design perspective. I use most of the most cognitive strategies during their study and comprehending period. And then I use mega cognitive strategies like monitoring, adjusting their target language during their practice part like making a voice record, like make a dialogue with your partner. Besides that, for innovation and creative part I try to use more effective strategies and communicate strategies to arouse their emotions, to help them promote more of their feelings. And then for negotiation part instead of giving students restrictions to listen, I just give them more open chances to collect information from the listening and then give them more interaction like dialogue, like group work to clash with each other's ideas. Besides that I give them negotiation a procedure negotiations by the big task they need to regulate monitor and collect all they've Learned and make it into a coherent dubbing or broke a commentation.

So now we I would like to shed light down upon the anticipated achievements. I think this class is considerably anticipated. Well, first the highlight is that I try to weave a thin throughout every part of this class like with a sweater. And then the layers of the activities are gradually added according to the difficulties and the students profile. Besides that I use the electronic gadgets in my English class and I think that maybe in the future what I can improve is that I can give students more specific dimensions because their styles are different. There are some visual learners, there are some auditory learners and there are some kinesthetic learners. So if I can give them more activities designed through the electric gadgets, the apps, maybe we can help them more. They can bring out more of their better abilities. And I still need to smooth out the difficult words and vocabulary in my class. That is part I want to work much now better. And the 3rd one I think I can improve is that the layers of activities for different levels of students can also be designed more specifically, more individually.

Now I would like to talk about the biggest highlight for this class that is I design 10 classes for our colorful Chinese culture, collecting from 10 lessons this lesson marked the first the dragon boat festival alongside the category of festivals besides with arts, customs and literature so it's a trial and it's a big challenge for me but I think if I can carry on and figure out the big idea for the for the conducting of my teaching that will be much better so I always remember that teach the students and they. Learn but involve the students and they remember so I try to facilitate my class with the initiative activities try to refresh their own knowledge with the new ones by giving them the hands on practices, hands on experiments we can so I can light up a fire in their heart that guide the future path for their development and for their future growth.
