Hello, honorable teachers and judges. It's my honor to present my lesson plan here. The lesson I'm going to talk about is from Pep book 7, unit 3, my weekend plan, part c, read and write. I'll divide the presentation into 3 parts. General introduction, teaching procedures and and the features of the design. Let's start with the first part, general introduction. I will talk about it from the following parts. I did that lesson under the guidance of the call competence of English curriculum and the English learning activity concept also, before we come into each individual lesson, we should take a look at the whole unit.

First, the big idea is about making plans. So according to the overall analysis of this unit content, I divided it into 4 progressive lessons. Then let's analysis the reading material from the 3 aspects, what, why and how. The same of the content is human and self. And this lesson is a diary which is focus on reading and writing skills. As for the topic, it is about making plans which is close to the student's daily life.

The concert is about plans for mid autumn festival and this passage is written in simple future tense. The target language like being, going to well are used in this passage so the student will learn how to write about the future. The writer's purpose is to show the cultural background of mid autumn festival and to give an example of how to make a plan.

Next let's move on to the target students. They are in grade 6. They start thinking abstract at this age but some still have difficulty in higher order thinking. What's more they have Learned all these topic related knowledge from grade 4 and they have just Learned how to talk about the weekend plan.

In the 2 earlier lessons. After reading the passage they will learn to transfer what they have Learned about weekend plan to festival plan. I expect that they can describe things in details by asking more w h. Questions which are helpful for their logical thinking. Based on the analysis above and the teaching objectives here for the whole unit.

I divide the unit objectives into each lesson and set the following teaching objectives according to the core literacy of English, discipline and the English learning activity concept. Please have a look. By the end of the class student will be able to one master the topic, related words and use the simple future tense to talk about their festival. Plan in groups to cooperate in group works and communicate topic actively.

3. Know about the characteristics of the mid autumn festival and some related traditional customs and understand the importance of family reunion. 4. Develop abilities of observing and summarizing with the help of 5 w, one h, question chance and the mind map. So I think important for the students to use the reading strategies to get the main idea of the story and use the simple future tense to talk about their festival plans. And students may have difficulty in observing and summarizing.

According to the national English curriculum, I adopt a communicative approach and a task based upon approach. In my teaching they offer students an opportunity to engage in a variety communicative activity so that students can develop their communicative confidence. At the same time I made use of CAI in order to draw students attention. As for evaluation, I adopt teacher's evaluation, self evaluation and appear evaluation to evaluate the students from all around perspective. So in order to achieve these teaching objectives, we should carefully design and carry out the teaching procedures.

Me, I've divided my teaching into basically 3 stages in which students can develop their abilities of communicating, reading, cultural awareness and logical thinking. At the very beginning of this class, I show students many pictures of different festivals and get the students to have a free talk about their favorite festival, so as to lead in the topic and allow students interest. Next, I guess the students to sort the festival into Chinese festival and western festival. Then I get them to focus on the traditional Chinese festival, especially our mid autumn festival by doing this, I can acquaint students with their background information before they came to the passage. I encourage students to think and ask questions about mid autumn with 5 w one h questions. Reading with questions can make them reading more interesting and purposeful.

The world reading activity include fast reading and intensive reading. First this game and find out what is the literary form of this passage. Then they scan and find out what I've been being under his family going to do. By skimming the structures can get the general idea of the whole passage and check the predictions. By scanning student can locate specific information. Now it's time to read a more detailed information by using questions as a chain. For the deaf necessity uncovering details and new knowledge to reading. Also, student will have some practices. This language output activity can help student to produce language based on what they have Learned. Also, I present among the map to help students elicit key information from the passage. We can help students to simplify sophisticated input so that it becomes the basic of output. But this is just the first step in using mind map. After reading, I got this. I got the students to further use the mind map and discuss what a good plan should be. Then I show them another plan of spring festival. Since they have Learned so much about making plans, it will be easy for them to say something about it. They discuss in groups and design their own family festival plans and try to find out the most suitable things each family members is going to do. And this is the homework. It can help students to consolidate what they have Learned in class. The late design focus on language output about different level students. Finally, it's the blackboard design.

For the last part. Let's come to the features of the design. First, by using questions as a chain, we can improve students attention to details as well as increase in comprehension and problem solving skills. This approach starts with a concrete and move to the abstract. Second, language knowledge is structured and visualized. I use this mind map to help students recognize relationships in a more linear type of activity. This approach helps them with better overall reading comprehension.

As in this lesson, I start with encouraging students to ask question about what they want to know about mid autumn festival. These questions around the student's cultural awareness of mid autumn day. Then they read about the diary. I present the big question which shows the main line of the article. Then I ask more questions which help them to get details of the plan and know more about the festival culture. Some of the questions are for literal comprehension and some are for influential comprehension. After reading, I use these questions to help students think about the deep meaning of traditional festival culture. Finally, they talk about their own family festival plan. They will become more and more confident about our own festival culture as they know more about it. Well, that's all for my presentation. Thank you for your time and attention, and have a nice day.
