Good morning, dear judges. It's my good honor to present my teaching design with all of you. This unit is from PP book 4, unit 2. What time is it? English new curriculum standards 2022 told us the starting point of each discipline is to achieve the key competencies. The key competencies of the discipline include 3 aspects specifically, key ability, essential characters and value concepts. So the key competencies are teachable, learnable and invaluable. Guided by this theory and based on the overall design of the unit, I designed this lesson.

Now I will talk about my teaching design from these 4 parts. The first one, the analysis of the unit. The theme of this unit we refined is time management and the topic is timetable. The same meaning is making our time well spent.

You see the mainline of this unit is clear. So I designed the following objectives of this unit. The first one, the students are able to recognize the timetable. And number 2, they're able to realize the importance of following the scientific daily routines. And number 3, they're able to make their time well spent. As you see, the objectives are hierarchical and logical, which point to the formation of key abilities. That is scientific time management.

According to the teaching objectives, we choose these parts as our main teaching material. And at Jimmy's day, and a big task from PP website, the edit parts, consolidate the target language, make the negative effects of unreasonable timetable visually, and strengthen moral education, make your time well spent. To make sure we can work out the objectives well.

The performance assessment of each period are as follows, so that the students can make the progress through learning this unit. In this period, the students reflect and revise their timetable. They can develop their key abilities by doing the big task.

According to the big question, how to make your time well spent? I divide this unit into 4 periods. Look beautiful, focus on how to change the daily routines to be a better mean. And this sentence can also be used as a formative assessment.

Now I will talk about the 4th period of this unit. This is the ending section, also the most important part, based on the learning content of the part, 3 periods. In this class, the students complete this task. They reflect, rethink and revise from others timetable to their own. They use what they have Learned to solve the problems in real life.

According to the analysis of the whole unit, I designed the teaching objectives of this period. Number one, they're able to use the key vocabulary and sentences comprehensively. And number 2, they're able to reflect on their own daily routines and try to make it more reasonable. And number 3, they're able to understand how to make our time well spent to have a good day in order to achieve the objectives above.

The following teaching strategies are, I used task based teaching method, cooperative learning strategy and drama in education strategy and you will see it. My students love it so much. Now let's come to my teaching procedures. Real situation, real tasks and real life experience help the tea competencies be realized. In this period the students complete the task through 3 steps, reflect, rethink and revise. They learn by doing the task. So before task I use the drama strategy which is called cross cutting to visualize 3 timetables. And the students compare different timetables and feel that different timetables cost different lifestyles. So what is cross cutting and how to play. Let's watch.

Interesting, right? So by the cross cutting, the students can visualize the timetable and they can preliminary judge and distinguish the different timetables and think about how to improve it. So you see, they are so great.

Now let's come to, well, task. I will show my timetable and the students read and sort the reasonable points and unreasonable points. Then give me some suggestions to make a better timetable.

So with the help of the students, I reflect, rethink and revise my timetable. And it's also an experience for students. They can get ready to complete the task, change their daily routines. The first step, reflect. I used the drama strategy, which is called forum theatre, to help them reflect their daily routines. So what is the forum theater? How to play. Let's watch.

So, you see, it's a good way to develop their key ability. The students can reflect their own daily routines, and also they can give suggestions to others. Then the students rethink. They check their daily routines on the worksheet. Again, take the reasonable points and circle the unreasonable points and get ready to revise. Now I think they are well prepared for the final task. They can improve their daily routines by themselves. And so in this way, the students reflect, rethink and revise their daily routines. They complete the task and realize a reasonable daily routines make a better life.

Now they can communicate and share their new daily routines in groups and realize the necessity of time management. And then watch the video how to make your time well spent from the PP website and tick the correct answers, how to make a good use of your time. So the students could learn more strategies to manage the time in the video and complete the noctive construction. At last we sum up for the whole unit learning.

Now let's come to the homework. I design a learning log as the homework for today. It's divided into 2 parts. Need to do and choose to do. They can choose part of it to finish according to their ability. And it can help them review and consolidate what they have Learned. And it can also be used as a performance assessment. This is my blackboard design. I use graphic organizer to display the target language and visualize the key information from teaching process. Change daily routines to be a better me, which point to the thematic meaning of this period and also this sentence can be used as a formative assessment. It embodies integration of teaching, learning and evaluation. At last, I will talk about my teaching reflection.

At the ending section, the students reflect, rethink and revise. They complete cognitive construction and the theme, meaning by doing the task, change daily routines to be a better mean. I'm sure to say that we achieved the teaching objectives successfully. And secondly, I use different teaching strategies, especially the use of drama strategy, intuitive and interesting.

At last, I design learning log as homework. Creatively, you see, the learning log is hierarchical and pluralistic. As a performance assessment, it can encourage students to diversify their development set.
